Kwan Ying Do is a system of Martial Arts that was created by Grandmaster Feeman Ong, who was an extraordinary Martisal Artist of high reputation in China and Taiwan. He was an exceptional fighter and reached a high level of ability in Kung Fu, Tai Chi, and the Chinese healing arts. He was also a well-accomplished businessman outside of the Martial Arts.
Master Ong, a tenth degree black belt, had the privilege of training with many high level masters in China such as Grandmaster Gao Tao Sheng, Lao Pei-Zhong, and Grandmaster Jin.
Coming to the United States in late 1950's, he created Kwan Ying Do (Way of the Honorable Masters). In this system he incorporated the best teachings of all the masters he had encountered since his youth. After being granted permission to teach Westerners, he opened his first school in Akron Ohio in 1960. Before his untimely death in 1983, he named Mr. Alex Wasil, the director of Wing Sing School, as Jen Moon or head of the system in Master Ong's absence.
Currently there are four schools that comprise the system and faithfully carry on the teachings of Master Ong:
- Wing Sing-Master: Alex Wasil, System Director
- Yee Sing-Sifu: Robert Krueger, Director
- Yuen Sing-Sifu: George Gajdos, Director
- Hing Sing-Sifu: David B. Cial, Director
As a student in the system you can receive instruction in Kung Fu, Tai Chi Chuan, or both. Extra classes are available in Traditional Chinese Health, Qi-Gong (vitality exercises), Meditation, Children's and Women's self-defense, and other special trainings.
